"Fanling Urban-Rural " Guided Tour X STEAM Workshop
The community guided tour "Fanling Moments: Urban-Rural Symphony", co-organized by the project team and the social enterprise "Kai Fong Tour", received an enthusiastic response! To allow more participants to explore how Fanling preserves its traditional culture while integrating modern urban planning, showcasing the unique charm of urban-rural integration, six additional sessions were held between January and August 2026. The initiative attracted over 100 members of the public, social welfare organizations, and students to experience firsthand the unique transformation and vitality of Fanling.
In addition to introducing the planning and key engineering features of the Kwu Tung North and Fanling North New Development Areas, and leading participants to visit historical landmarks such as the Lung Yeuk Tau Pai Lau, Lo Wai Brick Walls, Tang Chung Ling Ancestral Hall, Shung Him Tong, and Luen Wo Market, this series specially introduced a new spot—the Lung Yeuk Tau Interchange. Here, the tour highlighted the Fanling Bypass and the footbridge constructed using Ultra-high Strength S960 Steel. The programme also featured a STEAM bridge-building workshop, enabling participants to gain hands-on understanding of bridge structures. Using popsicle sticks and tape, they unleashed their boundless creativity and applied their knowledge to craft their own unique "miniature footbridges"!
